What do you do?

I sing the blues.

Where do you live?

Melbourne, but I travel a lot. I spend a lot of time in Sydney as well. It’s kind of like a second home.

What inspires you?

I’m a bit of a nostalgia-phile. I have a little bit of a romance with the music & aesthetics of the 20’s, 30’s & 40’s. But it’s definitely not limited to that. Good song writing, design & aesthetic of any time or place appeals to me. I’m also inspired by other people’s stories and you know, the big bad world in general.

How do you express yourself?

Primarily, through melody and lyric.

Does what you wear reflect your personality?

Most definitely.

What article of clothing can’t you live without?

Just one!? I love a Zoot suit. A good haircut and the right shoes are also pretty important I’d say.

What are the style trends for 2015?

Haha, I’m not sure! I don’t really follow style trends so much. I think it’s more important to dress for your self. You can’t go wrong with classic, but it’s also great to experiment. Either way, as long as you know what suits you and you wear it with confidence. And don’t forget, it’s all in the details.

Is there an "Australian style" for men?

I think there is, but it’s changing. The Australian man has always been represented as rugged. Rugged can be good, but it’s also nice to pamper yourself a little. I think diversity is important. And men shouldn’t be shy to express themselves through fashion and the way that they groom themselves. Style should be personal and you should have fun with it.

What’s your go-to gadget?

I don’t know if it’s classified a gadget, but I always have a comb handy. Speaking of which, again, not really a gadget but definitely my go-to guy. I couldn’t do without my barber Tony Vacher at Sterling HQ in Sydney.
